Steamboat ("Steamboat," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Jadon Michael Porio De Jesus, II, and operates the website and application available at stmbt.app, including the mobile application for Steamboat (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Service.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our Service.

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect on and through the Service; in email, text, and other electronic messages between you and Steamboat and/or the Service; and any other information we collect, use, and share when you use the Service. It does not apply to information collected by third parties, including through any application or content that may link to or be accessible from the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly:

• Email address and name (via account creation)
• Payment-related information (processed by Stripe; we do not directly store your full card details)
• Watchlist selections, alert preferences, and other in-app configuration choices
• Communications (including support requests and correspondence, feedback, and any other written communications between you and Steamboat)
• Any information you submit through our Contact form

2.2 Information collected automatically:

• Usage data (pages visited, features used, general interaction patterns)
• Device and browser information
• IP address and approximate location (for security and fraud prevention purposes)
• Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Process subscription payments and manage your account
• Send transactional emails (digests, alerts, account notifications)
• Send marketing communications, where you have opted in, and provide an easy way to opt out
• Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
• Perform technical operations, troubleshoot and fix issues, and analyze usage patterns and trends
• Test new features and conduct research and development

4. Automated Processing and the Bubble Pressure Index

Steamboat uses automated data processing and scoring methodologies to generate the Bubble Pressure Index and related analytics from publicly available SEC filing and market data. These are algorithmic outputs based on documented inputs and do not involve human editorial judgment on a per-score basis. This automated processing applies to company financial data, not to personal information about you.

5. Third Parties We Share Information With

We share information with the following service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security practices:

• Clerk — authentication and account management
• Stripe — payment processing (web subscriptions)
• RevenueCat / Apple — payment processing (iOS in-app subscriptions, where applicable)
• Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
• Railway — backend hosting and database infrastructure
• Vercel — frontend hosting and content delivery
• Alpha Vantage — third-party market data provider (used to source company financial data; does not receive personal information about you)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties without your explicit consent.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to court orders, subpoenas, legal process or government requests, requests from law enforcement or regulatory authorities, or legal claims or disputes. We may also disclose information when we believe, in good faith, that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or enforce our Terms of Service.

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you — for example, statistics about Service usage shared with business partners or the public.

We use cookies and similar technologies, including those set by Clerk for authentication and session management, and may use analytics cookies to understand usage patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use the Service.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 9).

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication practices, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential, notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access, and using strong, unique passwords.
